![]() ![]() Still, package temp never exceeded 55C while playing OC'd anyway, so I don't think the issue was there. Not sure what's causing the sudden drop in GPU utilization, but it's really affecting my ability enjoy the game, so hopefully someone has some insight that can help.Įdit: This list will be updated with each new attempted fix.Īlright, so tried undoing all overclocks, did not have an effect other than lowering my overall package temp, which is to be expected. Tried running DDU to completely uninstall NVIDIA drivers then clean reinstall them, no effect. Tried disabling RealTek audio driver, no effect. Tried disconnecting both monitors (and running with absolutely no peripherals except a mouse since I'm running this on a laptop), no effect. Tried running both Steam and Origin in Offline Mode, no effect. Tried running Origin in Offline Mode, no effect. Tried doing a Clean Restart of windows as suggested by no effect. Tried reinstalling game entirely, no effect. Tried reinstalling latest NVidia drivers, no effect. Tried updating firmware for Logitech G900, no effect. Tried unplugging the wireless dongle for my Logitech G900 mouse (only peripheral other than monitors) and using the mouse fully wired, no effect Tried specifically adding ME1/2 in the 3d settings in NVidia Control Panel, no effect. Tried setting the ME:L launcher and ME:1/2 applications to high priority GPU managed in Win10 Graphic Settings to ensure my GPU was being used, no effect. Tried reducing the core affinity from all cores to 4 and to 1 on separate occassions (has worked in the past with other games), no effect. Set processor priority for ME1,2 and the ME Launcher to high, no effect Tried playing with Windows Game Mode On and Off, no effect. Specifically turned off Origin In-game by clicking on the properties of the game itself in the Origin Library, no effect. Completely deleted “igo64.dll” from the Origin directory, no effect. Turned off both Steam, Origin, and N-Vidia In-game Overlays, no effect. Tried playing the game in Full Screen, Borderless, and Windowed Mode, no effect. Turned off/on Dynamic Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, Motion Blur, etc in the graphics menu, no effect. Turned off/on Vsync and tried playing both ways, not effect. Things I've tried to fix the problem that have not worked: My system is: Intel 2.4GHz (Currently O/C'd to 3.30GHz), 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX-2080 Nothing crazy is going on in either, no enemies populating, no heavy particle effects. in ME:2, the results are from running in a circle around the CIC on the Normandy SR2. In ME:1 The results are recorded from running in a loop in the Citadel early in the game. As you can see, at about the 1 minute mark, the GPU usage goes from consistent to very inconsistent, resulting in stuttering as can be seen in the video I made to showcase the problem here (this video is from ME:1 on Citadel, but the same thing is happening in ME:2). I've attached 2 files showing the issue as reported by Task Manager monitoring for both games. The GPU, around 1 minute or less of gameplay, drops significantly in it's usage percentage. I remember finding the solution online, but can't seem to find the forum again. So I bought ME:Legendary, and I've played through ME:1 and I'm now playing ME:2 and I'm running into a consistent issue between both games. I wasted a night and a workday reinstalling windows and all my apps, when the fix was so stupid simple. And then it works fine, CPU was no longer throttled and everything was back to being fast, no problems afterwards either. Waited a few mins, then powered up (without plugging in). Then when powering back up, it did not stop throttling. It seems when the battery drains in sleep mode, it somehow went into power saving mode, throttling the CPU. The CPU was throttled to 0.38GHz, and I couldn't get it to stop. I noticed right away it was slow to start, and everything was extremely sluggish. I put my X13 in sleep mode while plugged in, then later unplugged it and left it alone until it ran out of charge. I had a problem the other day that I was able to resolve, but it was annoying enough that I thought I should share. ![]()
